Preserving "A Fair Chance For a Free People" - Karl E. Mundt

Interstate and Foreign Commerce

RG III Legislation - Interstate and Foreign Commerce 1949-1967
4 Hollinger document boxes (#575-578)

Senator Mundt did not serve on this committee of the Senate but his philosophy of staying very close to his constituents resulted in their concerns becoming his concerns. Matters such as public works, Interstate Commerce Commission, liquor advertising and transporting, non-resident hunting licenses, appointments to Federal Trade Commission, Federal Power Commission, and Federal Communications Commission, import of furs from Russia, use of American wool, Natural Gas Act, railroads, and commercial aircraft received his attention. Senate colleagues such as John W. Bricker, John F. Kennedy, and Strom Thurmond informed him of their concerns with confidence that he would study them.
